Related Topics: International Trade
Proposed legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate (H.R. 4128, Amendment 3791 to the financial services reform bill, and S. 891) would require certification or declaration to the government that imports do not contain “conflict minerals,” which are:
- Columbite-tantalite (coltan/tantalum),
- Cassiterite (tin),
- • Wolframite (tungsten), or their derivatives.
This bill also contains mechanisms that may not be implementable. If you import any of these materials or items containing them for your manufacturing processes, please contact Justine Freisleben at (202) 721-4155.
