The Drug Enforcement Administration has proposed specific limits on the quantity of ephedrine, pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine that can be imported into or produced in the U.S. in 2011. Pursuant to the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005, this notice sets forth the DEA’s initial assessment of the quantities of these three List I chemicals that are needed for medical, scientific, research and industrial needs; for lawful export requirements; and for the establishment and maintenance of reserve stocks. Comments on the proposed 2011 limits are due by Oct. 13.
