EPA Issues Direct Final Rule on Cadmium or Cadmium Compounds in Consumer Products

On November 20, 2012, EPA announced that it is requiring manufacturers and importers of cadmium used in consumer products to provide unpublished health and safety data to the Agency. EPA is working with the CPSC to reduce exposure to cadmium in consumer products, such as children's metal jewelry.
